Ok, I am stuck with trying to upload a picture on here. I am using an ipad, and want to upload from my camera roll. The little buttons on the forum want me to enter an "Image URL" whatever one of those is! :tossPC: I do like the smileys though! Anyone know what to do?

well sage, I have disabled being able to add attachments because it is a free forum and we have very limited space, you would have to host your images on an image hosting website, a list of which is here: Image Hosting Websites The ones I like most are Photobucket and Imgur and then in the first post of Helpful Links it tells you how to use the URL from the image hosting site you used to upload your picture and put it in a post. I am sorry that you can't upload pictures straight to the site here like you could at AC but it would cost us if we wanted to add extra space once we used up our free space, which at the rate we were going, would not have taken long and I can't afford to pay for any extra space.

Understood. I've rooted through my website stuff I've used for my self employed business, and found that I have already bought a domain name for my photography stuff, which has storage for a website on it. So, I will put my photos on there. I'd rather have full control over the stuff anyway. It's more 'aspie' that way for me and my computer interests I use rapid weaver website design software for my mac, and have bought some really nice professional looking templates for displaying images. Typical aspie me - the thought of being exposed to so many other people on photo sharing sites makes me anxious! I now just have to sort out my photos again after my hard drive failure. Makes my head hurt to have to go through them all again!!

ah ok, so you do have your own website to show us your pictures. I am sorry that we can't handle uploading many pictures here. I look forward to being able to see your pictures once you have sorted through them again, just don't feel rushed, take your time with it though to try to keep your head from hurting.

No worries! I just got myself a new 2tb hard drive to plug into my system. I mean business when I want to sort my stuff out I've got a great program for the mac called "Big mean folder machine 2" which handles merging multiple folders together of stuff, and can read photo files XMP data to work out when the shots were all taken. It can manage duplicate file names etc. Still takes a lot of time finding all the blinking photo folders though!!! Last time I did this, I ended up with over 8000 photos, spread over quite a few years. I really ought to have tidied up my stuff a long time ago....

yea well since I have already had a hard drive problem myself before I began taking pictures and lost some things I had downloaded and edited on my "gaming" computer, I have always tried to have more then one back up with my pictures since I first started taking them. Pretty much I wouldn't delete any pictures I wanted to keep off of my memory card in my camera. That is until I started using the Google+ autobackup so atleast I would have them backed up SOMEWHERE.
