I also want to know what you don't like about any changes I have made. I have already made some changes that were suggested even though I wanted the Politics section, I got rid of it.

that is the kind of forum I have always wanted to be a part of, making it about everyone on the forum, not just what the Administrator wants and not caring about those that come on the forum to be a part of it.

Politics and religion can be touchy subjects.

I know you wanted a politics section Butterfly, but every time I have seen that discussion online, it becomes an argument & ends up with name calling & foul language, same with religion. Heck, just saying you believe in God & Jesus online gets you thumbs-down & met with ridicule. I am not saying it would happen here. I would love to talk about anything that isn't out of bounds without unwanted criticism.

meh, it's not getting put back though I would keep a very close eye on it and would hope this group is a close knit enough group to keep from the arguing, foul language and name calling but I won't take that chance since some have already showed they don't want it here. (though it had been here for a year before you all came here)

I understand Butterfly. I think that maybe wait a while maybe we can try again once people get a bit more established engaged as a group. I think it was a hard decision for you. I think that maybe we can try again in a few weeks maybe let things settle here a bit too. then see about opening it again if people want it.

It's just that even among friends such things tend to devolve very quickly. If you want to try it out at some point and see if it goes well, I'm fine with that.

I don't hide the fact that I'm a Christian and would welcome the opportunity to interact with other Christian Aspies, but such a thing isn't realistic in this cyber world. It would take a dedicated moderator 24 hours a day to keep things under control. As soon as word got out, the trolls and "mean people" would be all over it. I've shared it before, but allow me to share my experience here. When I first learned that I'm an Aspie, I found WP. I started a thread about "Christian Resources for Aspies" there. Those of us who share the Christian faith have certain challenges living with AS, so I thought it would be nice to discuss such things; network, if you will. I would have been safer had I slashed my wrists and jumped into a pool of hungry sharks. The hostility was totally unwarranted. They were still attacking me long after I had completely left WP, as I popped on a couple times just to see what had become of the thread. A moderator finally locked it when it was decided that "the OP was no longer active."

First off, I agree about Christian Aspies. I am a Christian myself. I can force all accounts to be approved and I can disable registration all together as well.
I had something similar happen when I mentioned I was a christian on WP too. I hate that place, it is NOT an aspie friendly place at all, from day one!

I even made a comment about how, "We, as Aspies, should stick together . . ." They attacked that and another feeding frenzy ensued. I'm still of the opinion that a lot of them from WP have migrated over to AC. I popped on a little while ago just to take a quick look. There was not a single name I recognized. I do know for a fact that there's two from WP there now, as they are using the same name.

Occasionally, these people have caused problems, and we've had to take appropriate actions. I confess I'm a little bit uncomfortable with the thread here "Make an atheist's head explode!" While I'm an atheist, I choose never to pick fights over it...but thus far that thread has proven unbelievably civil! Kudos to everyone! So I'm not about to demand we put a complete ban on that topic, unless over time it proves to become a serious problem.
